Ujjain: Villagers to boycott election over trenching ground row

Ujjain: Residents of the 5 villages have decided to boycott the elections over the issue of Gondiya trenching ground. The villages have been demanding that the trenching be shifted to as due to it villagers of Gangedi, Ranabad, Brajrajkhedi, Hasampura and Gondiya are suffering from polluted air generated diseases.

So far pollution related ailments have claimed 71 lives of the residents of these villages. The villagers launched a poster campaign to support their demand and appealed not take part in election. According to villagers they have been reminding the district administration and civic body officials in the matter, to no avail. The villagers said that since last four years they are suffering the problem due to poisonous smoke from the ground when garbage is set afire in the ground.
