Ujjain: Three persons were taken ill after consuming illicit liquor from near city railway station on Friday. According to sources, the victims purchased the liquor which was reportedly being sold from near platform number 1 of Ujjain railway station. The victims have been identified as Ramprasad (50), a resident of Shujalpur; Ambaram, a resident of village Siroliya and Subhadrabai (50). Soon after consuming the liquor, all the three stumbled and fainted, sources said. The victims were rushed to district hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
In their statement to Government Railway Police (GRP) victim Ambaram and Subhadrabai said that they had purchased the illicit liquor from platform one. On being tipped off, a GRP team arrested Rahul alias Chingari (22), a resident of Ganesh Colony with five litres of illicit liquor and Akash Mali (21), a resident of Junasomvariya area from the parcel office of the railway station located on platform number one.
