Ujjain: Tehsildar’s inspection sparks dispute at mandi

Ujjain: Tehsildar’s attempt to check stock irregularities at shop of MLA’s brother sparked a dispute by grain merchants at Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi. The tehsildar was acting on complaints against the firm. According to reports, collector Shashank Mishra had instructed additional tehsildar Adarsh Sharma to inspect a firm owned by MLA Paras Jain following complaints.

Jain flew into rage over the inspection and reached the mandi. Meanwhile, a few grain merchants accused tehsildar of consuming alcohol. However, medical checkup proved otherwise. According to mandi secretary Rajesh Goyal, FCI’s wheat was unloaded at the firm in mandi with complete documentation. However, after checking papers, tehsildar said that the documents were not complete. Meanwhile, the MLA has demanded action against persons lodging fake complaint.
