Ujjain: Students’ play on cleanliness appreciated

Ujjain: Mayor Meena Jonwal participated in programme organised by Gyansagar Academy in which students staged a play based on promotion of cleanliness.

Children also made a report card of cleanliness campaign of the civic body through paintings. Jonwal appreciated initiatives of the schoolchildren in the presence of deputy Commissioner Yogendra Patel and principal Geeta Garg.

‘Penalise litterbugs’

Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal instructed the official to penalise litterbugs. She asked the shopkeepers not to use nonstandard polythene bags and also asked denizens to use public toilets and observe prohibition of open defecation. She asked eateries owner not to sell stale eatables. The officials said that litterbug shopkeepers in Agar Road were penalised on Tuesday and Rs 1500 was collected as fine from them.
