Taking strict action on rent defaulters Ujjain municipal corporation (UMC) officials sealed their shops. On Thursday deputy commissioner Sunil Shah and assistant commissioner Subodh Jain along with concerned officials sealed shop number 8 at Vijay Complex which had rent overdues of over Rs 23,163.
The tenant Sanjaykumar Jain did not pay the rent for a long time, the officials said. Shops of tenant Ramesh Chandra, Dr Jugalkishore, Dinesh Pandya, Rajeevkumar Jain and Manojkumar Shrenik were also sealed on account of dues. The officials told that the action against the defaulters will continue.
Demo of EVM, VVPAT held
The UMC organised demonstrations of EVM and VVPAT machines in zone number 5 and 6 where the officials explained the functions of the machines to denizens.
