Ujjain: Five different unions of railway employees staged a joint demonstration at Ujjain headquarters in protest against railways decision to start three main trains viz Malwa Express, Intercity Express and Yeshwantpur Express to Mhow (DADN) and engage running staff from there instead of Ujjain. Members of Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh, Western Railway Employees Union, All India Guard Council, All India Loco Running Staff Association and All India SC-ST Association participated in the demonstration held on platform number 1. Raising slogans against the railway administration, they took out a rally led by SS Sharma.

Later, addressing a meeting, Sharma said earlier that the three trains were driven by staff from Ujjain headquarters without any problem. But the railway administration all of a sudden decided to start these trains from Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow – DADN). Terming this as an anti-employee decision, Sharma warned that it may disturb the operational status. Those present on the occasion included Babulal Suryavanshi, Ravindra Kumar Upadhyaya, Prem Narayan, Arun Saxena, Giriraj Prasad Lakwal, Narendra Sehgal, Kamlesh Kushwaha, NK Jangid, Sandeep Jain and Pankaj Saxena among others.
