Ujjain: A patwari was on Wednesday caught taking bribe from a farmer by Lokayukta for transferring of farmland in village Lakoda-Gondiya. According to details available, Patwari RC Bamaniya was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for issuing name transfer documents of farmland to farmer Lakhansingh Panwar, a resident of village Mangrola.
According to DSP Lokayukt Shailendrasingh Thakur, Panwar lodged a complaint with SP Lokayukta Rajesh Kumar Mishra and later Lokayukta police trapped the Patwari while taking Rs 2500 as bribe from the farmer. The victim said the Patwari was lingering on the matter for a long time and was demanding Rs 10,000 as bribe but later he agreed to Rs 5000 for issuing the name transfer documents. The Patwari has been booked under various Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
