Ujjain: Public relations, law, spiritual affairs and science and technology minister PC Sharma here on Thursday took a jibe at the BJP for claiming that they have done extraordinary work for religious endowments of Hindus. BJP kept making tall claims during its 15 year regime in the state, but in 75 days after coming to power in Madhya Pradesh, we have taken many initiatives for the conservation of temples, protecting the interests of priests and enhancement of bovines,” he claimed.

Sharma reached the city for campaigning from Mandsaur. After doing darshan of Mahakal Jyotirlingam he addressed a press conference at a private hotel. He told media persons that the Congress is implementing all its poll promises one by and one so far it has addressed 83 promises. He said over 200 km long Ram vangaman path (the route, according to Ramayana, which Lord Rama is believed to have passed through during his exile) is being constructed at Chitrakoot.”

The honorarium of priests of 21k temples has been increased to three-fold. According to him, the public relations department had prepared this Act and got the nod from law department which sent it to a committee comprising senior secretaries which has suggested certain amendments. After an amended draft, the proposal will once again sent to the committee comprising senior secretaries and after their approval it would be sent for the final approval of cabinet.

The minister said that policies and schemes related to media persons has been simplified and made pro-press professionals. In case of death of working journalist, his family will now be given Rs 15 lakh and government will bear all expenditures of the education of his wards. Advocate Protection Act has already been sent to president of his approval, he added.
