Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal inspected Chakor Park of the city on Monday. Irked over less greenery and improper plantation of saplings in the park, she imposed a penalty of Rs 4.20 lakh on service provider firm Kanhaiyya Garden. The municipal commissioner also instructed the officers concerned to ensure the proper maintenance of the park. Adopting the policy of zero tolerance over filth and garbage, she instructed the sanitation workers to give their 100 per cent performance to ensure cleanliness across the city.
After the inspection of Ward 4, the commissioner slapped a penalty of Rs 20,000 on Globus waste management and Rs 5,000 on Divine Waste Management. Meanwhile, a civic body team slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Sulabh complex. The team was inspecting public toilets and also fined the shopkeepers for using banned polythene bags. Likewise, another team conducting inspection of zone-2 areas slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on shopkeepers for using polythene bags and also destroyed 5 kg of polythene and 25 rotten fruits.
