Ujjain: BJP MLA Mohan Yadav on Friday staged a sit-in before the office of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) on Thursday. He also met divisional manager Anil Shrivastava seeking permission to lay pipeline for potable water.
Yadav took up the issue of water scarcity in ward 48 and colonies located near Indore Road with public health engineering department (PHED) and demanded laying water pipeline in these areas at the earliest. The PHED is not laying pipelines as MPRDC has not issued permission for the same.
Protesting against the attitude of MPRDC, the MLA staged dharna before the office of MPRDC on Friday. The project has already been approved but due to some issues between PHED and MPRDC, the latter is not issuing permission, Yadav said. The matter is been being lingered on for a long time and residents of 32 colonies are facing severe drinking water problem, the MLA said. Sunil Bhadoriya, Pankaj Mishra, Hemant Sen, Anandsingh Khinchi and other BJP members were present during the protest.
