Ujjain: By and large, people belonging to different walks of life welcomed the provisions of interim Union Budget-2019-20, which was tabled in the Parliament on Friday. In his reaction, BJYM city general secretary Amey Sharma said the Union Budget is suitable from all aspects.
He said benefits have been given to all sections of society including youths, soldiers, farmers and the salaried class. He said economy will certainly get a boost due to increase of taxing pay limit. Gitashridhar Seva Sansthan welcomed the interim general budget, describing it as beneficial for each section of the society.
Organisation president Suman Kabra stated that special focus has been given on the conservation of cow, dignity of all three divisions of the military forces and farmers and remarkable relief has been given on income tax limit. On the other hand, Congress party has dubbed it as a budget full of gimmicks.
Party spokesman Vivek Gupta said that the Modi government has failed to reduce the GST even on life saving drugs. He said persons having annual income of Rs 8 lakh come under economic weaker sections, but the Centre has increased the limit of income tax up to Rs 5 lakh only.
According to him, transferring of Rs 6000 during the year in the bank accounts of more than 12 crore farmers who possess less than 2 acre agriculture land is a farce as most of them don’t have such accounts. He claimed that no concrete steps have been taken for the welfare of unemployed persons and the unemployment ratio which was at 2.2 per cent during UPA-2 regime increased to 6.1 percent during NDA regime.
Corporator Maya Trivedi said like election campaigning in 2014 Narendra Modi has made false assurances in the interim budget. She said that efforts were being made to portray big picture out of minute things which can be better understood by a provision that merely Rs 500 will be paid to poor farmers per month in the name of improving his condition.
