Ujjain: The Mayor-in-Council (MiC) on Thursday finalised the budget proposals for 2019-2020 and sent it for final approval of general council. City mayor Meena Jonwal and Commissioner Pratibha Pal were present. It was the last sitting of the MiC. On the suggestions of members, the MiC added some more proposals related to civil works to be carried out across the city by spending more than Rs 11 crore.
These new proposals include carrying out wire fencing and plantation on either sides of the open government land at the cost of Rs 2 crore, boating facility, garden development and installing amusement instruments at Gambhir reservoir at the cost of Rs 2 crore, installing dripper system on street lights and high masts of prime roads at the cost of Rs 3 crore,
launching water laser show at Chakore Park at the cost of Rs 1 crore, development of island on Purushottam Sagar at the cost of Rs 2 crore, repair and reconstruction of approach roads to various religious places at the rate of Rs 3 crore, construction of Shahid Stambh near St Paul School at the cost of Rs 50 lakh,
construction of a sub-way at Zero Point ROB at the cost of Rs 50 lakh, development of Sandipani Choraha, construction of new swimming pool by dismantling existing one, to dismantle Bahadurganj Sabji Mandi, development of parking lot at Retiwale Baba Lohe Ka Pool on government land, conducting survey of slum areas, purchasing water tankers, cutter machines for the maintenance of gardens, etc.
INSPECTION
Commissioner Pratibha Pal along with additional commissioner Manoj Pathak and officials of colony cell, engineering, light and health departments inspected Parshwanath Colony. She also talked to residents and noted down their problems. She assured them to resolve their issues at the earliest.
