Ujjain: A week ago residents of the city received respite from the scorching heat due to rain and thunderstorm, but from the last two days the mercury has been rising continuously. On Wednesday, maximum temperature was recorded at 42.2 degree Celsius while on Thursday it was recorded a little bit higher at 42.4 degree Celsius. The temperature within the last 7 days has risen approximately by 6 to 7 degree Celsius which was brought down by the cyclonic rain and thunderstorm to 34 to 35 degree Celsius.
Hot wind blowing in the city forced denizens to remain indoors especially in the afternoon, hence the city witnessed a deserted look in the main markets and shops. Most of the denizens started using stoles to cover their face to save themselves from the scorching heat and sunburn.
