Ujjain: In a chilling and tragic incident man shot down his wife and later turned the country made pistol on to self on Tuesday afternoon in Jiwajiganj police station limits at Mahavir Nagar near in Piplinaka area. According to the details available Devkaran Vyas was a priest at Narsing temple in Chhota Sarafa area, he first shot his wife Antimbala and later killed himself by a local made pistol.

The incident took place in afternoon in the room on the second floor of the couple’s residence. Hearing the sound of gunshots their kin reached the room which was closed from inside, they informed the police and later the room was opened with the help of police. The view of the room shocked the persons as they witnessed the bodies of Antimbala and Devkarnan lying on the bed in pool of blood. Additional SP Neeraj Pande, Jiwajiganj CSP Negi, and FSL team also reached the spot.

Talking to Free Press CSP Jiwajiganj police told that prima facie it seems that first husband shot his wife and then committed suicide, because the room was closed from inside and no other person entered in the room. The CSP ruled out the possibilities of murder. The police said, bodies were taken into the custody and sent them to district hospital for post-mortem.

The CSP told that a suicide note was also recovered from the room which is being examined by the police.  The statements of family members have been recorded, the police added. According to kin the couple got married just a year and half ago and did not have any issue. The police are trying to ascertain the reason as to why the couple took the extreme step.

ROLE OF TWO WOMEN UNDER SCANNER

Meanwhile, the police investigation has now stuck on the reasons as to why the Devkaran took this extreme step. Informed sources said that the incident was pre-meditated as the couple was with their mother and father on the ground floor. After having lunch the couple moved towards the second floor, where the husband with the consent of his wife shot her first and then immediately shot himself.

The suicide note recovered from the spot reportedly mentioned that the couple took this step with mutual consent. “The wife doted on her husband and when he informed her that he does not want to live any longer as two women were exerting huge pressure on him, the wife told him that she would also like to leave the world along with him as she would not be able to live without him,” sources disclosed. Initially, the police will register two cases one of murder and second of suicide, but as the murderer himself committed suicide thus the final report will be produced in the court and nobody will be held responsible in the murder case.

But, in the suicide case which is likely to be registered under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC against the two women who were continuously blackmailing Vyas and compelled him to end his life. It is learnt that the deceased had mentioned named of these women in his suicide note and also reportedly said that he had already paid them Rs 4-5 lakh twice and as they were threatening him to frame him in a police case, he decided to that committing suicide is the only way out for him, added a source.
