Ujjain: Principal secretary labour Sanjay Dubey held meeting with officials of city to review the preparations for religious event Makar Sankrati scheduled to be held on Monday. Divisional commissioner Ajit Kumar, IG Rakesh Gupta collector Shashank Mishra and other officers participated in the meeting and apprised him about the preparations.
Dubey reviewed the water level at major banks of city, water gates, and time required for water to reach at major banks of city, if released from Dewas barrage. During the meeting officials informed him that water will be discharged in the midnight of Saturday and Sunday which will take 30 hours to reach the banks of city.
Dubey told officials to remain cautious about the crowd management as lakh of devotees thronged the city for religious bath. He inspected banks of river and directed the officials to check the slippery areas on the banks and also checked the condition of sprinklers.
