Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal inspected various ghats of the river Kshipra ahead of a snan parv Bhutadi Amavasya which will fall on April 5 next week. She visited KD Palace, Ramghat, Triveni, Gaughat, Narsing Ghat, Dutt Akhada ghat, Mangalnath Ghat and Siddhanath Ghat. The commissioner instructed that officials to maintain cleanliness at all the ghats before the snan-parv, she also instructed to maintain proper lighting arrangements at different ghats of the river and temporary changing rooms.
Tax of Rs 81L recovered, Zone offices to remain open today
The municipal commissioner informed that zone offices will remain open on Sunday also and the property tax payers may avail this opportunity and deposit their due tax. The civic body officials told that on Saturday property tax of Rs 53, 81, 232 were recovered while Rs 28 lakh were recovered as water tax from Railway department.
‘Complete works of swimming pool soon’
Commissioner Pal also inspected the construction work of swimming pool near the office of Ujjain Municipal Corporation and instructed the contractor to complete the work soon. The civic body officials told that the pool is being constructed according to international standards which may be used in future for swimming competition also. The commissioner also inspected the existing swimming pool located at Dewas Road instructed the officials to complete its maintenance work soon.
