Ujjain: Attractive varghoda procession was taken out from the main thoroughfares on the fifth day of week-long Avanti Teerth Pratishtha Mahotsava here on Sunday. A grand procession of Diksha Kalyanak started from Madhav College at 9 am. People of Jain community had wearing turban of Duppatas and ladies in orange duppatas joined the procession.
Bands from Manipur, Gujarat, Odisa, Vadodra, Kerala and Maharashtra’s Turari Vaadak along with artists of Jharkhand and Punjab moved with the procession. Punjabi artist presented Bhangada and Rajasthani artist presented Ghumar dance. The procession was welcomed at Nai Sadak, Sarafa and Dhaba Road area. Besides Praveen Porwal from Porwal Society and Sindhi society’s Roop Pamnani also welcomed the procession. People were standing on both sides of roads to welcome the procession.
Khartargacchadhipati Acharya Jinmaniprabhusurishwar Maharaj also graced the event. On Monday, rituals like manak stambh aaropan, toran vidhan, pratishtha of parmatma will be organised from 6 am. Bhagwati diksha samaroh will be held from 9 am which will be followed by falechunddi, ashtottari shantisnatra mahapujan, aangi bhakti roshni, bhakti sandhya. Temple will be inaugurated on February 19.
