Ujjain: Taking the matter seriously when three goons threatened staffers of Civil Hospital on Wednesday night, the city police on Thursday deputed four armed security personnel at the hospital’s police chowki, which was lying non-functional for 10 years.
Armed police were deployed at OPD and emergency wards. The police administration line attached three policemen—S-I Shobharam Kirar and constables Hemant and Chhotelal for apathy. Acting on the FIRs lodged by Dr Dr Jitendra Raghuwanshi and home guard Suresh Singh, the Central Kotwali police with the help of CCTV footages identified the accused as Sachin alias Pappu alias Munni (23) son of Rakesh Rao Wadkar of Indoregate, Ravi son of Rajendra Bali of Arya Samaj Marg and Kapil son of Shanti Nagar.
Sachin was arrested on Thursday and produced before the media persons. On February 12, the accused pulled out a pistol at Civil Hospital to get treatment for dog bite. They even threatened the hospital staff on duty. An FIR in this case was lodged under Section 386, 294, 353, 506, 189 (34) of the IPC.
The accused reached Civil Hospital in teh night and one of them Sachin Wadkar was bitten by a dog. They reached the counter to make a slip and when the operator asked the name of patient, one of them showed pistol. Later they also threatened the duty doctor.
In the meantime, a home guard jawan reached there and the accused threatened him too by showing the pistol and fled the spot. When duty doctor Jitendra Raghuwanshi asked them to make a slip then all the youths reached the counter and when the operator asked for the name then the youth lost his cool and showed him pistol again. When these accused reached the doctor for rabies injection and subsequent treatment, the doctor told them that the injection is available only in the morning. Irked over this, they showed him pistol also. Later, they sped away.
