Ujjain: Hearing & speech impaired boy drowns

Ujjain: A pall of gloom descended in Sudama Nagar locality on Sunday following death of a 10-year-old boy in a drowning incident. Dewas Gate police informed that one Naman, son of Roop Basant Singh Bains, who was deaf and dumb, was missing from his house since Saturday morning.

His parents and relatives as well as neighbours searched him for several hours and lodged his missing report late in the night. When police launched search operation, boy’s slippers were found near an ancient well located in Sudama Nagar. Sources said, Naman had gone there to pluck berries, but slipped into the well and died due to drowning. His last rites were held at crematorium in Chakrateerth Ghat.
