Ujjain: In view of Kisan Andolan (farmers stir) called by Bharatiya Kishan Unioun (BKU), collector Shashank Mishra convened a meeting of concerned officials to take the stock of situation on Wednesday. The farmers under the aegis of Bharatiya Kisan Union are on the strike. They have stopped the supplies of milk, vegetable, grains and other farm items. To ward-off any untoward incident the administration deployed heavy police force in Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi premises. Huge inflow of wheat for minimum support price procurement reached there.
On the other hand the office bearers of the BKU handed over a memorandum to tehsildar which was addressed to the chief minister. According to sources the administration has assured denizens that procurement of necessary items will be insured. Dugdh Sangh also made preparations for the andolan and stocked 300,000 litre of milk.
