Ujjain: An elderly woman and her son were detained by Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Police (RPF) at Ujjain station on Wednesday as they were travelling with a newborn boy in a suspicious manner. According to details available, the woman was travelling in a general coach of Veerbhumi Express with a newborn boy and when co-passengers questioned the woman about the baby she behaved in a suspicious manner.
As she did not give them satisfactory answer, they informed the police. During interrogation, the lady told police her name as Naggo bee and the boy travelling with her as Nasir Ali. When police interrogated Nasir, he told the police that his wife Zahoor Bee gave birth to the child on Tuesday and they are travelling to Nimbaheda and his wife could not accompany them due to some reasons and she is coming by a bus.
According to police, the statement of Nasir seemed not true as the duo travelled without any specific reason carrying the newborn without his mother. Nasir also called his family members but no one turned out at the police station to support his statements, the police said. Police are investigating the case further.
