Ujjain: Devotees start thronging city to take part in Panchkroshi Yatra

Ujjain: Though the Panchkroshi Yatra will officially start from Monday, the staunch devotees have started arriving in the city. They will take part in 118-km yatra, which will continue till May 3. After taking blessings of Shri Nagchandreshwar, the devotees will commence their arduous journey. Meanwhile, the district administration has made necessary arrangements for the faithful taking part in this yatra. It deployed a team of doctors with ambulance and nursing staff for medical assistance to the devotees during the journey.

On the other hand, the public heath engineering department has made preparation for providing drinking water to the devotees during their journey. According to sources, some devotees may start their journey one-day advance for which the administration has also made arrangements. The yatra starts on the 10-day of Baisakh. The district collector instructed the officials concerned for providing sufficient lighting, cleanliness, bathrooms, toilets, tents, eatables and potable water to the devotees.

SP Atulkakar writes letter to subordinates SP Sachin Atulkar wrote letters to subordinates to maintain law and order under their respective police station limits.  Temporary showers to be arranged for devotees on Shanishchari Amavasya On the occasion of Shanishchari Amavasya which falls on May 4, temporary showers will be installed at Triveni Ghat of Kshipra where old Shani temple is located. The devotees will take bath on the occasion of Shanishchari Amavasya.  As river Kshipra has no water at the ghat, the administration arranged water from river Narmada to be supplied for bathing purpose.

Collector deploys executive magistrates to monitor law and order
The collector distributed responsibilities to executive magistrates to maintain law and order at every halt of the journey and will apprise the collector on day-to-day basis of the journey. SDM Munish Singh Sikarwar, SDM Purushottam Kumar, Additional Collector Awadhesh Sharama and ADM RP Tiwari will monitor law and order situations, the collector added.
