Ujjain: Devotees arrive on Kshipra banks

Ujjain: Devotees reached for religious holy dip at the banks of river Kshipra on the second consecutive day on Tuesday day to mark the occasion of Makar Sankranti festival. According to astrologers Makar Sankranti continued on Tuesday also in accordance with the Hindu calendar.

According to Pt Amar Dabbawala, the Sun left Sagittarius and entered Capricorn on Monday at 7.51 pm and since then the festival started actually. Devotees reached various ghats of river Kshipra and performed worship and other rituals with low turnout, according to sources 8 thousand devotees reached ghats for taking holy dips on the second day of Makar Sankranti. Devotees not allowed on Narsing Ghat The security guards now allowed the devotees to take dips at Narsing Ghat due depth of water in river.

Security guards were deployed at every 50 meter distance at the ghat. Mass feast organised at Ghat On the occasion of Makar Sankranti a mass feast was organised at Ramghat near Ranoji Ki Chhatri area. Hundreds of devotees participated in the feast.
