Ujjain: Denizens demand military action for Pulwama attack

Ujjain: Hundreds of denizens attended rally against Pulwama attack on CRPF jawans organised by City Press Club. Over 5,000 people demanded military action against Pakistan and terror outfits sponsored by it. Businessmen, leaders of political parties, differently-abled persons, journalists and girls gathered at Shaheed Park at 4pm.

The protesters later took out a rally raising slogans against Pakistan ‘sare kam chhod do, Pakistan ko thhok do’. The rally passed through main roads of Freeganj and reached Tower Chowk where it turned into a huge human chain. City Press Club handed over a memorandum addressed to the President of India to ADM Jagdish Dabar.

Organisation Samarth Seva Sanstha also handed over a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister and the President of India to teach a lesson to Pakistan by strong military action to take revenge of the killings of the jawans. The programme ended with national anthem.

On this occasion mayor Meena Jonwal, shehar quazi Khalikurrehman, Akhilesh Maharaj, Iqbalsingh Gandhi, Father Anthony, Kutub Fatemi and other prominent citizens were present. The programme was conducted by Shailendra Vyas ‘swami muskurake’. Diffrently abled persons for the firs time joined such rally and raised slogans with fully zeal take revenge from Pakistan.

Many organisations and institutions across the city organised prayers and condolence meetings on Saturday also in the honour of martyrs of CRPF who were slain in a terrorist attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. According to the BJP district media in-charge Sachin Saxena a meeting was organised in the chairmanship of district head Vivek Joshi .

MP Chintamani Malviya, MLA Paras Jain, Mohan Yadav, Iqbalsingh Gandhi and mayor Meena Jonwal were also present. All the leaders condemned the terrorist attack made by terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohemmed and assured strong response to Pakistan. The party members observed 2 minutes’ silence in the honour of the martyrs.

The meeting was conducted by district general secretary Suresh Giri On this occasion Om Jain, Sanjay Agrawal, Mahendra Raghuvanshi, Gourav Tomar, Prakash Junwal and many party members were also present. Saxena informed that the party will stage dharna at Tower Chowk on Sunday at 12 noon in which all the party members will remain present.

Bhartiya Janata party minority front torched the effigy of Pakistan and terrorists at Kot Mohalla in the leadership of state head of the front Dr Sanwar Patel. Hundred of the members raised slogans against Pakistan. On this occasion district head Faizan Khan, and other members of the front were present.

Likewise Mahila Congress members also paid tribute to soldiers in the leadership of district head Anju Jatwa. Disciples at Moni Baba Ashram located at Gangaghat also paid tribute to slain jawans under the guidance of ashram head Suman Bhai. Suman Bhai announced to hand over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the collector for the families of martyrs.

Spokesperson Deepak Rajwani told that 2 minutes silence was observed in the ashram to pay tribute to the jawans. Petrol pump owners of the city also stopped working from 1 pm to 1.30pm to pay respect to the jawans. All India Petroleum dealers’ association secretary Gopal Maheshwari told that donation cheque for Sainik Kalyan Kosh will be handed over on Monday to the collector. Advance College, Parshuram Sena and many other organisations also paid tribute to the jawans.
