Ujjain: Divisional commissioner Ajeet Kumar on Monday convened a review meeting of collectors and other officials to ensure water supply during summer. The commissioner instructed all the collectors to prepare a work plan for procurement and supply of potable water from March to July.
Kumar also asked the officials to identify areas where potable water need to be supplied transported during the summer. Public Health Engineering (PHE) department officials were also instructed to submit a list of broke down hand pumps in the division so that alternative arrangements can be made.
Apart from Ujjain collector Shashank Mishra, collectors of Shajapur, Agar, Dewas, Neemuch, Mandsaur and Ratlam attended the meeting along with heads of zila panchayats, and other officials concerned. During the meeting, PHE superintending engineer informed that hand pumps in 5831 villages of the division are being checked.
