Collector Shashank Mishra paid a surprise visit to Mahakaleshwar temple in wee hours. The collector gave warning to those who were found without permission in the temple during ‘Bhasmarti’. The collector also held meeting of office-bearers of Shri Mahakaleshwar temple management committee and instructed them not to allow entries sans permission.
According to sources, complaints of unathourised entries were being received by the collector hence to take the stock of situation, the collector made a surprise visit to the temple. According to sources, some priests take devotees for attending ‘Bhasmarti’ without permission in the temple by charging them some amount.The collector also noted names of such priests, sources added.
Preparations for Panchkroshi yatra
Religious ‘panchkroshi yatra’ will start from April 29 which will last till May 3. The collector instructed the concerned officials to make arrangements for eatables and other necessary items for daily usage ahead of the yatra. The collector also instructed food and medicine administration to take samples of eatables and asked them to forward any incident of food poisoning. The collector also allotted tasks to officials who will be deputed at all halting stations of the yatra.
