Ujjain: City boys have started preparing for kite flying ahead of Makar Sankranti on Monday. Heavy rush has been witnessed in kite markets. According to astrologers, the festival would be celebrated on Monday and Tuesday. Traders are offering kites from Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bareilly and Rampur are also being sold in the markets which attract attention of kite lovers.
Topkhana and Shaheed Park are the main markets for kites. Kite lovers are thronging these markets to purchase kites and threads. Astrologers said that after Tuesday auspicious mahurat will start as ‘adhik-maas’ will end on Tuesday with parv snan of Makar Sankranti.
Chinese manjha banned The sale of Chinese manjha has been banned by district administration. Sources said that as manjha has already been sold in advance there is little that police can do in this regard. Kites distributed in play school Ahead of the festival, Play school Alphabet Academy distributed kites to children on Saturday. Principal Geeta Agrawal said that children exchanged wishes and a few even enjoyed flying kites. All teachers and director of the institution wished children on Makar Sankranti.
