Ujjain: The existence of medicinal garden developed by environmentalist JP Chaturvedi, after toiling for 12 years, in Madhuvan colony is under threat. Chaturvedi said he collected rare medicinal from across the country for the garden. Currently the garden has over 400 species of plants with varying medicinal importance. Forest department not only acknowledged his works but also provided facilities to him for development of garden.
Recently, existence of garden and plants come under threat as some unidentified people have started uprooting these plants and around 200 plants and saplings have been uprooted within few days. Chaturvedi appealed the municipal authorities to provide protection to the garden as it will be of immense significance for Ayurveda students and researchers, as collection of rare species under in one garden is rarely found.
