A symbolic dharna was staged by the BJP to protest against the alleged corrupt policies of the Congress government and CM Kamal Nath at Tower Chowk here on Saturday. Prominent among those who addressed the dharna agitation included city BJP chief Vivek Joshi, state spokesman Rajpal Singh Sisodia, MP Chintamani Malviya, MLAs Paras Jain and Mohan Yadav, party candidate Anil Firojia, senior leaders including Ashok Prajapat, Gajraj Singh Jhala, Om Agrawal and Kalavati Yadav. Suresh Giri conducted the proceedings and Sanjay Agrawal proposed a vote of thanks.
In their speech, the BJP functionaries and party leaders alleged that the Kamal Nath government has broken all records of corruption in just three months of its initiation. They said that the recent IT raids on the houses of CM’s close aides have exposed accumulation of cash money amounting to crores of rupees. They said that the Congress came to power by making tall claims, but its government is in fact running the transfer industry all these days and deceived the people.
Firojia to file nomination on April 25
A meeting of Ujjain North and Ujjain South Assembly constituencies in view of Lok Sabha election was organised at BJP’s divisional headquarters at Lokshakti Bhavan. Divisional organising secretary Pradeep Joshi told the meeting that booth-wise meetings will be held on April 19, 20 and 21 in entire parliamentary constituency. Party candidate Anil Firojia will file his nomination on April 25 in the form a rally which will commence at 10 am from Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Ward-wise meetings will be organised on April 27, 29 and 29. Booth-wise meetings of allied organisations will be simultaneously held on May 12. Prominent among those present in the meeting included Babulal Jain, Chintamani Malviya, Paras Jain, Mohan Yadav, Meena Jonwal, Jagdish Agrawal, Bahadur Singh Mukati, Ramchandra Korat and Prabhulal Jatwa. Suresh Giri conducted the meeting and Rajendra Jhalani proposed a vote of thanks.
