Ujjain: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Zila Panchayat member Santosh Arya’s husband Pratap Singh Arya joined hands with Congress on Wednesday leaving the BJP in trouble ahead of election to the vacant post of president and vice-president Zila Panchayat. This jolt came just before the Zila Panchayat elections, slated for January 23, which is equally important for both the major parties of State.
Tarana MLA and ex-Zila Panchayat president Mahesh Parmar and senior Congress leader Batuk Shankar Joshi personally took Pratap Singh Arya to Chief Minister Kamal Nath for the official process of Congress membership. Kamal Nath administered oath to Arya for his allegiance toward party and its ideology. His wife Santosh Arya is member of Zila panchayat from ward number 12.
Mahesh Parmar held that with the incorporation of Pratap Singh Arya in party will strengthen it base in the region ad will provide concrete base for upcoming Lok Sabha election. He held that seeing the fast accomplishment of election promises by Kamal Nath, volunteers of the parties are also showing faith in him and they joining the party for the growth and development of the state.
