Ujjain: Two youths were killed in a road mishap on Dewas Road while they were returning from Ujjain to Dewas on Thursday night. On being informed, ‘Dial 100’ of Nagziri police station rushed to the spot but unfortunately the driver of police vehicle lost control over the vehicle and it fell into a ditch near Abhilasha Colony. Three home guards and driver were injured.
According to details, Rakesh Panchal (25), Deepak (25), Sandeep Thakur and Deepak Malviya (23) all residents of Aawaas Nagar, Dewas were returning from Ujjain by a car (MP 41 CA 3735) when a speeding truck (MP 13 GA 1475) belonging to Saurav Dairy coming from opposite side collided with their car. The incident took place in front of Maharaja College. In the accident, Deepak and Rakesh died on the spot while other passengers received severe injuries.
After the accident, local people created a road block. Nagziri and Narwar police reached the spot and rushed the injured to hospital and sent the bodies for post mortem. Injured police personnel and driver were also rushed to the hospital. On being informed, parents of Deepak, Rakesh and other two members reached the hospital. Deepak’s kin told that he got married last year while Rakesh’s father was in a state of shock. However, the truck driver managed to flee from the spot after the accident.
Dial 100 vehicle driver Manoj Patel said that due high speed he lost control over vehicle and they too met with accident. The injured home guards— Ashish Chouhan, Virendra Pande and another— were rushed to the hospital where their condition is reported to be stable.
