Ujjain: Students of Government School of Excellence launched voter awareness campaign on Monday under the aegis of NSS (national service scheme) unit. Students took out a rally under the guidance of principal Bharat Vyas and nodal officer Ajay Shrivastava.
The rally, under the leadership of campus ambassador Uttam Bhatt and Chitrika Sharma, passed through Shastri Nagar, Neelganga, Vivekanand Colony before returning to the school. The school also organised competitions of rangoli, painting, speech, slogan and essay. The principal said that there are many first time voters in the school and administered oath to the students to exercise franchise for forming good government.
The principal incharge KK Thomas said programme officer Rajesh Gandhara, Dr Pradeep Trivedi, Shashank Shukla, Pradeep Parashar, VP Sharma, Brijesh Sharma, Vijay Sharma, volunteer Harsh Sharma, Vishal Chouhan, Jivesh Ahirwar, Purab Sharma, Prakhar Paliwal and staffers are constantly extending their cooperation to make the campaign successful. Shweta Sharma and Shefali Chaturvedi judged the rangoli competition while Dr Uma Sharma and Urmila Shreemali judged the speech competition.
Slogan, painting and essay competition were judged by Sudeep Jain, Dr Manoj Dwivedi, Chandan Yadav, Vasundhara Vyas and Harsharani Gupta respectively, the principal said. Arpita Panchal, Darshini Sahu and Divyangi Chawand bagged first, second and consolation prizes respectively in rangoli competition. Ashwin Mishra, Bhumi Pal, Adarsh Devada were the winners in speech competition;
Vaibhav Tiwari, Anita Sharma, Riya Patidar in painting competition; Riyarani Makwana, Garima Shrivastava, Ekata Ninave in slogan competition; and Riyarani Makwana, Mohd Saffan Nagori, Kunal Marmat, Ujjwala Gupta, Ekata Ninave, and Gouri Upadhyay bagged prizes in essay competition, the principal added.
