Ujjain: Municipal Commissioner Pratibha Pal inspected various areas of the city to see cleanliness drive on Thursday. She visited Basant Vihar, Ramghat, Mahakal and nearby areas and also paid a visit to Sulabh Complexes and checked them. She also fined Rs 30,000 on Sulabh Complex management when she found filthiness at various toilets run by the organisation
Meanwhile, the civic body took tough action against tax defaulters and recovered property tax of Rs 2 lakh from Prateek Industries, Rs 25035 from Vijay Lakshmi Industries and Rs 57816 from VDR Industries. The UMC officials also removed illegal encroachments and kiosks located in Gond Basti and Nutan School areas. They also took action against litterbugs and shopkeepers for using banned polythene bags.
