Ujjain: Sensation prevailed on Agar Road area as some miscreants demanding a sum of Rs 500,000 from a trader opened fire on him in a broad day light, here on Saturday afternoon. This incident occurred at about 3.50 pm in Mohan Nagar area. At that time a 33-year-old trader Manoj Rathore, resident of Indira Nagar was sitting in his shop named as Balaji Electricals.
Eye witnesses said three youths riding on a bike suddenly reached there. One of them entered the shop and threatened the trader by brandishing a sword and demanded a sum of Rs 500,000 from him. Meanwhile, another accomplice of the accused who was on guard outside the shop fired a shot with his .32 bore revolver on the trader, but the miraculously the shopkeeper escaped unhurt.
As the victim started shouting, after refusing to pay them money, and forced the accused to flee from the spot. The incident created a lot of panic in the area and nearby traders started assembling there. Meanwhile, the Chimanganj Mandi police reached the spot and seized the CCTV footage. TI Manish Mishra said that out of three accused identification of one namely Yash alias Chingu Bundela, resident of Mohan Nagar has been made. He is a habitual offender. A case has been registered under sections 307, 329 (34) of IPC.
