Ujjain: With the soaring temperature, electioneering is also gradually picking- up in Ujjain. Amid high claims and allegations made by the arch rival parties Congress and BJP, the poll plank looks to be a mixed lot.

Ujjainites talk on national issues as well as local issues during the elections. Free Press team met several young and to be first time voters to know their aspirations and expectations from these elections.

“The rates of petrol should be decreased and the transportation facilities in Ujjain should be improved. I like Congress most and exhibited it by showing aggression during demonetisation in the country which had a bad impact on the economy.”

ANMol JUNEJA, first time voter, age 19, Bageshwari temple priest “Being from the commerce background I want that this field should be promoted in Madhya Pradesh. Strict compliance with traffic rules in Ujjain should be ensured, it should be followed with renovation of the city.

Tourism apart from temples should also be promoted.” RAUNAK SiNgH, age 19, first time voter, studying in Indore “Iam not anxious about voting and it does not matter if I vote or not because there will only be fake promises made by different political parties and contesting candidates. I am not at all satisfied with the parties of Ujjain.

Fair practices should rule the roost.” ViVEK SiNgH, age 19, first time voter LS Polls: This is what first time voters want “We want proper job opportunities in Ujjain. Congress had waved the loan of the farmers which was not done by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. When there is any raid on BJP leader by Congress that authority gets suspended.

Fake promises of Modi government may benefit Congress.” HiMANSHi DHANAWAt, age 21, second time voter, pursuing banking, from Ujjain “I am from general belonging to low income group and therefore I want class reservation for general category. The percentage of the seats for general category should be increased. BJP leaders are good and help poor.

They should promote facilities for the disabled persons in elections. Women safety should be streamlined in Ujjain.” NilAM VyAS, age 20 “Iam very excited to vote. Being an Indian citizen it is must to choose a governing authority of the country. Ujjain should increase water supply facilities along with water conservation.

BJP is my favourite party. Industrialisation should be taken up for development of Ujjain. Different companies should establish their units here so that job opportunities can be enhanced.” UMMi AiMAN, age 19, first time voter, pursuing BBA from Indore
