Ujjain: Vikram University former vice-chancellor (VC) Sheel Sindhu Pandey was given police cover so that he can report at Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur on Monday morning. Pandey, who tendered his resignation couple of days ago citing ‘personal’ reason, was professor at the School of Studies in Mathematics, Jabalpur. After tendering the resignation to Governor-cum-Chancellor Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhavan, Bhopal he went to Jabalpur.
He returned to Ujjain after Saturday midnight and on Sunday morning visited Mahakaleshwar Temple. Four VU teachers met him at the VC bungalow before leaving for Jabalpur by road with full security cover. ASP Neeraj Pandey reportedly escorted him up to Narwar, some 20 km from here on Dewas Road. The former VC neither met the new VC Prof Balkrishna Sharma nor attended the farewell party.
