Aurangabad: With the general election around the corner, the Shiv Sena has finally called off its alliance with the Congress in Aurangabad. The decision came after a meeting between the two saffron parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena held at the Mayor’s residence on Wednesday.
The question being asked is along with Aurangabad, the Shiv Sena and the Congress also have an alliance in Jalna Zilla Parishad. The BJP has also struck an alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party in Ahmednagar.
The BJP workers had urged that the Shiv Sena should break the alliance with the Congress, only then would the party workers agree to campaign. After the meeting between BJP-Sena, minister Chandrakant Khaire announced the spilt at the Zilla Parishad level.
