Ramdas Athawale backs out from contest

Mumbai: After meeting CM Devendra Fadnavis, Ramdas Athawale, chief of the Republican Party of India (A) and Union minister of state for social justice withdrew his claim on Mumbai North-East Lok Sabha seat. He said Fadnavis assured him to re-elect him to the Rajya Sabha under the BJP quota.

Athawale added that he would support and campaign for Rahul Shewale, a Shiv Sena MP, who is a Sena candidate for the same constituency. Athawale is a Rajya Sabha member and his term will be end on April 2, 2020.
