Mumbai: The NCP has replaced incumbent Member of Parliament Madhukar Kukde from Bhandara-Gondia by Nan Panchbuddhe. On May 28, there was a byelection, necessitated by the resignation of Nana Patole, the MP. In this byelection there was a close contest between the NCP and the BJP.
Kukde from the NCP defeated Hemant Patle from the BJP. Patole had contested and won on the BJP ticket in 2014, but after disagreeing with the BJP stand, he left the party to join the NCP on December 8, 2017.
Panchbuddhe is a resident of Arjuni village and had even fought the Zilla Parishad poll. His journey was from ZP to the Member of the Legislative Assembly. He was the Guardian minister of Gondiya when he was given the Assembly ticket. Currently, he is the Bhandara dist chief for the NCP.
