Mumbai: Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh leader Prakash Ambedkar, who has forged an alliance with All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Maharashtra for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, wants Congress party to take a final decision on the alliance talks. Ambedkar has given an ultimatum of six days to Congress for forging an alliance with his party.

He recently said, Congress has finalised seat sharing with other small allies and BBM did not need Congress, is now seen to take a complete U-turn. He is now seen eager to tie up with Congress on Thursday.

While addressing the media at his office in Mumbai, Ambedkar said, if Congress does not give him a concrete proposal on seat sharing, his party will independently contest at least 12 of the 48 LS seats in the state Ambedkar has formed an umbrella of all small political parties and organisations Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, which does not include the major political parties, Congress Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Shiv Sena. MIM is the important political party for this umbrella coalition led by Ambedkar.

While expecting a positive response from the Congress up to January 30, Ambedkar said, “Congress did not want AIMIM with them. Their party chief Asaduddin Owaisi at a recent rally held in Nanded, announced, he did not want a single seat from Congress and will not participate in the campaign rally od any Congress candidate.

So Congress should respond within the next 6 days else we will contest 12 seats under the banner of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi in the state.” Ambedkar while declaring the share of 12 seats, said, “Out of 12, each two candidates should be given from Mali community, Dhangar, Muslim, Other Backward Classes and from Vimukta Jati (VN) and Nomadic Tribe (NT).”
