Mumbai: Campaigning for Lok Sabha polls ends today; parties, candidates gear up for final show

A total of 17 constituencies in Maharashtra will go to polls on April 29, and today is the last day for campaigning. As campaign ends at 5 pm today, all political parties have made significant plans to promote their candidates across Mumbai, as its all the six constituencies will go to polls on Monday. Candidates of all the parties have planned mega road shows on Saturday to do most of the campaigning they can till the deadline ends.

Yesterday, PM Narednra Modi addressed a mega rally with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in Bandra Kurla Complex. While Congress chief Rahul Gandhi will be missing campaigning in Mumbai, other bigwigs like Kapil Sibal and P Chidambaram will be seen campaigning in the city. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was in Madanpura on Friday to campaign for South Mumbai candidate Milind Deora. Sanjay Dutt was also present at the meeting.

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani will be campaigning for BJP’s Mumbai North-East candidate Manoj Kotak. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be campaigning for Shiv Sena candidate MP Arvind Sawant, who is contesting Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from South Mumbai. Gadkari will later head to Shirdi to continue campaigning.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray held a rally in Nashik yesterday to continue his attacks on PM Modi and BJP. NCP chief Sharad Pawar will attend a meeting in Mumbai to support North Mumbai candidate Urmila Matondkar. Mumbai will see a large number of road shows and rallies of many political parties who will make their final attempt to woo voters today.
