Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday tried to create distance between Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by revealing what NCP chief Sharad Pawar had commented about Congress president Rahul Gandhi and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the past.
He reminded that Pawar had said that Rahul is immature and he would opt to go to the Himalayas after resigning from politics instead of joining Congress once again. The Congress leaders have gone with the same Pawar.
Addressing a poll rally in Nashik in support of Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance candidate Hemant Godse, Uddhav hit out at Pawar and the Congress. Criticising the Maha-gathbandhan led by Congress, he termed it as the ‘alliance without a face’.
“There are differences within the Maha-Aghadi of Congress for the Prime Ministerial candidate. Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav had said that they would not go with Congress. But, they are with the party. Their aim is that the PM should not be from the BJP alliance,” said Uddhav.

Taking a jibe on Congress tagline ‘Tumhala Laj Kashi Watat Nahi’ (How you are not ashamed of?), Uddhav said, “Before 2014, there were news about scams of Congress and their allies. The scams related to Adarsh, 2G spectrum, fodder, coal and so many other things. Why were you not ashamed before doing such scams,” he questioned.
Targetting Pawar, Uddhav said that Pawar had never visited the house of any farmer who committed suicide. His party leader had visited the house of terrorist Isharat Jahan whereas Modi has taught a lesson to Pakistan and the terrorists.
Mocking at Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s famous statement ‘ Lav re to video’ (put the video), Uddhav said, “I will not say Lav re to video, I am so simple.” Uddhav said that Congress wants to remove the section of treason from the Constitution. If this is done, even fugitive Dawood can come back to India and can live peacefully here, Uddhav said.
