Amid Lok Sabha elections, political parties are leaving no stone unturned to garner support from each and every class of society. The Shiv Sena has roped in poll strategist Prashant Kishor for campaigning in Mumbai South constituency. Shiv Sena’s candidate and sitting MP Arvind Sawant is facing an uphill task against Congress’ Milind Deora who is said to have an upper hand when it comes to high-rises of Colaba and Malabar Hill.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Prashant Kishor is not directly heading the campaign. it is learnt that his team will support Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray, who is leading Sawant’s campaign in the high-rises of Colaba and Malabar Hill. The Shiv Sena functionaries have also said that Aaditya Thackeray will hold one of his ‘Aaditya Sanvad’ sessions in South Mumbai, where youngsters and residents will be able to ask him questions. A Shiv Sena functionary told the leading daily, “Aaditya Sanvad has become very popular and we have had very successful events in Nashik and Kolhapur. We will replicate the same model in South Mumbai. It will be a corporate style event.”
The Shiv Sena is also taking help from BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha in Malabar Hill, legislator Raj Purohit and corporator Makarand Narwekar in Colaba. The Shiv Sena functionaries have also said that Prashant Kishor’s team, apart from helping in grassroots campaign, will also be roped in to boost Arvind Sawant’s social media.
