Gandhi had been addressing a poll rally for the BJP candidates Dr Sujay Vikhe Patil and Sadashiv Lokhande, who are contesting from Ahmednagar and Shirdi respectively, when he was asked to cut short his speech. He urged the audience to vote for the BJP without directly naming the candidate, Vikhe Patil.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, however, made up for the lapse by the party functionaries and expressed appreciation for Gandhi’s work. “Gandhi has done good work, for which he will be remembered,” he said.
