Pandharpur: Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil has challenged the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by saying whichever candidate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) decides for Madha constituency, Vijaysinh will support and ensure he wins. Vijaysinh is the sitting Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament of the NCP, whose son, Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil switched over to the BJP after NCP chief, Sharad Pawar stepped back from the race to make way for his grandnephew, Parth.

However, the name of the candidate is yet to be finalised. Ranjitsinh Naik Nimbalkar, who crossed over to the BJP, said, “Vijaydada will finalise the BJP candidate.”  Nimbalkar and Mohite-Patil called for an urgent press conference to refute rumours of the BJP unable to announce a candidate for Madha. Both clarified, they will help win whoever the BJP declares as the candidate.

“Since I have not joined the BJP, obviously they will not give me the ticket. More than the candidature, there is a need stabilise Krishna and Bhima,” said Mohite-Patil. Naik-Nimbalkar said they will campaign for whichever candidate Vijaydada selects and ensure his victory.

After Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil switched to the BJP, his name was being speculated, after Naik-Nimbalkar joined, his name began doing rounds. Now, the talk is Vijaysinh will switch parties and he will be the LS candidate for the BJP. Sajay Shinde is the candidate from Madha, for the NCP.
