Yami Gautam tells Anita Raheja-Heena Agarwal that you cannot go wrong with a well-fitted blue jeans-white top combo

Yami Gautam, the beauty from Uri, Kaabil and Vicky Donor, looks equally fetching in a sari and western outfits. However, she does have her own preferences…

My all-time favourite outfit: A sari.

My favourite outfit for a formal occasion: If it is related to work or profession. I would like to wear western; may be a nice dress. I have never tried gowns so I would love to try out gowns with different designs. If it’s a personal occasion then definitely Indian, a sari or a nice salwar suit.

My favourite designers: I love westerns by Rocky S. Sabyasachi has given a different meaning to the Indian contemporary stuff and Masaba is very innovative and very young.

I like to sleep in: Basic pyjamas and tops, no satin and other stuff. After a hard day’s work I want to sleep in something very comfortable.

My favourite colours: White is my all-time favourite, I love peach. In fact, I love pastels.

My favourite fabrics: I like silk, not raw silk, but very soft silks.

I have a fetish for:  Watches, recently I have developed a fetish for shoes but it’s nothing in comparison to the number of shoes my sister has. I am a very minimal accessories person. In watches, my favourite is Swatch.

My wardrobe is incomplete without: A nice pair of really well fitted blue jeans and a very nice hep, young, stylish and well fitted white top. You cannot go wrong with it.

I think I look best in: Indian clothes, pastels and floral prints.

According to me, the best dressed men and women in the industry are: Definitely Mr Bachchan, he is legendary, the way he carries himself in formals, they are so innovative. In women it’s Kalki. For me, your style speaks your mind.

I like my man to be dressed in: It could be in casuals or formals, anything. He could be just wearing a dark coloured shirt and well fitted pair of jeans with regular chappals. For me, it’s more of attitude and how he carries himself, be it formals or casuals.

The most expensive thing I have bought: A piece of jewellery for my mom. For myself, the most expensive thing I have bought is a dress from Forever New.

My handbag always has: A perfumed sanitiser, gloss, moisturiser, kajal and bandages.

My favourite perfumes: Versace and Calvin Klein.

My favourite brand in sunglasses: Ray-ban – the Aviators are stylish.

My favourite in handbags: Louis Vuitton.

My favourite brand in shoes: Jimmy Choo.

My favourite shampoo and conditioner: It’s not fixed.

My hair care routine: I try to oil my hair once a week and use natural conditioners like curd. I also go for hair spas.

I like to highlight: My eyes when I do my make-up.

I like to conceal: A little bit of my under-eyes. I try to sleep well to avoid getting dark circles, but I guess a light base and a basic concealer one has to use when you are facing the camera.
