Agent to agency owner – The many phases of Steve Holbrook’s career

The people who achieve success are the ones who approach life with a different mind-set. Steve chose to delve into the world of entrepreneurship at the age of 23, working in the life insurance industry. Over a span of 14 years, Steve built a licensed agency of over 250 individuals with operations in Canada and USA. Steve’s primary role is to attract, train, retain and build leaders. An integral part of this process involves leadership training, mental fortitude and mind-set training. Apart from this, Steve also owns multiple 7 figure real estate holdings.

A fact many may not know, is that Holbrook was born with chronic illness called Crohn’s disease. He eventually lost his lower bowels and part of the small intestines. Later, he underwent a permanent ileostomy. While he was hospitalized, Steve’s team did everything they could to keep the business momentum at hits maximum. He returned to his business with renewed fervour, and in the ensuing 8 years has grown his team from a unit of 10 to a stronghold of 300 licensed representatives, with 10 offices across the country. The iconic entrepreneur stated that he firmly believes that we must let our life experiences make us stronger, and continue to strive ahead. He stated, “The crisis points in my life have shaped my mind-set. I’ve learned to love life for the challenges and now I approach it as a game I can get better at.”

Steve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, to build his own business and help other people achieve the same. Today, he has built a strong team and rakes in 7-8 digits of revenue a month, while continuing to mentor his team and build leaders. Steve added “Entrepreneurship was always my passion. I always wanted to build a great team and help people do the same for themselves. It’s been a fantastic journey.” Steve specializes in teaching people how to build their own identity, set goals, and change their habits to improve their lives. Being one of the fastest growing social media influencers in Canada, he raked in over 30,000 followers in a short span of time. He also has a successful blog that deals with topics such as life, business, marketing and more.

Steve continues to reach out to people who have opted to have the same surgery that he did (a total colectomy). He helps them make the right choices and be more confident so that they can lead better lives. Apart from business, Steve was nominated for Avenue Magazine’s top 40 under 40, while he was also featured in the book “The Truth about WFG” by Steve Siebold as one of the top leaders in the company.Steve has had a fascinating journey, having started from scratch and achieved all the goals that he set out for himself.
