Ujjain: Shahid Samman Diwas was celebrated with full enthusiasm in city on Tuesday. Programmes were organised at several places around the city to remember the martyrs for their sacrifices. A programme was organised at Varishtha Nagarik Bhavan, Vednagar in which MLA Mohan Yadav was present as a chief guest. During the programme guests garlanded the photo of martyr SK Gandhi and lit the traditional lamp.
Remembering the martyrs, Dr Mohan Yadav said soldiers guard the borders for our protection without thinking about their lives. They sacrifice almost everything for the sake of the country. It is our duty to remember their sacrifice and also inculcate such kind of patriotism in our younger generation. He praised the government decision to commemorate their sacrifices and to pay tribute to these brave sons of the country.
Mohan Yadav honoured VK Gandhi, father of martyr SK Gandhi, and presented him a Shahid Samman Patra signed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. District army welfare office’s KR Chandra remembered martyr SK Gandhi and said he had shown exceptional chivalry in Indo-Pak war in 2001. Corporator Santhosh Vyas conducted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
In another programme martyr Lalbahadur Singh was remembered and his family members were honoured by mayor Meena Jonwal at Gandhinagar community hall. A programme was organised in Vyayamshala, Bhagsipura in which martyr Pawan Carpenter was remembered. ADM GS Dabur and ASP Abhijit Kumar Ranjan, MIC member Satyanarayan Chouhan, corporator Leela Sharma and other members honoured the family of Pawan Carpenter.
Shahid Samman Diwas celebrated in Lokmanya Tilak School
Shahid Diwas was celebrated on Tuesday in Lokmanya Tilak Higher Secondary School. During the programme chief guest energy minister Paras Jain remembered martyr Balram Joshi and paid tribute to him.
During the programme Radheshayam Joshi, father of martyr Balram Joshi, was honoured and guests presented Shahid Samman Patra to him. His sisters Urmila Joshi and sadhvi Durga Joshi were also present along with students and school staff members.
Shahid Samman Diwas celebrated in Maharajwada School
Martyr Jitendra Singh Chouhan and Rajesh Chaturvedi were remembered on the occasion of Shahid Diwas at Maharjwada number 2 school. Divisional commissioner MB Ojha honoured Dhruv Singh Chouhan, father of martyr Jitendra Singh Chouhan and presented him the Shahid Samman Patra. Members remembered their acts of chivalry and paid tribute to them. ADG Ashok Awasthi, IG Rakesh Gupta, joint director Sanjay Goyal and several other members were present.
Martyr Gajendra Surve remembered on Shahid Samman Diwas
Shahid Samman Diwas was celebrated in Gaujrati Samaj School on Tuesday in which martyr Gajendra Surve was remembered and his family members were honoured. District administration organised programme in which collector Manish Singh, SP Sachin Atulkar and municipal corporation chairman Sonu Gehlot participated.
Manish Singh honoured the martyr’s family with Shahid Samman Patra signed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Manish Singh said 11 sons of the city had sacrificed their life protecting the country. Atulkar and Gehlot along with Singh garlanded the portrait of martyr and lit the lamp to commemorate their sacrifices.
