Indore: Amid growing online services and increasing complaints about e-filing of income tax returns, tax practitioners of the city have demanded a camp by Central Processing Centre (CPC) Bengaluru and Ghaziabad of the income tax department in city to address issues concerned. However, the department has stated that e-nidan facility is there to address the issue.
These were the views expressed in a seminar jointly organised by income tax department and local chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here at CA auditorium. The seminar was organised to inform about e-facility of the department. Income tax commissioner (appeals) MS Pawar informed about several online services of the department. He further said that still if any taxpayers or consultant feels any kind of problem with the online system, they can visit www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and lodge their complaint at ‘e-nivaran’ window. They also lodge complaints at CPGRAMS.
Making case about complaints of the tax payers, main speaker of the seminar CA Rajesh Mehta stated that owing to small mistakes and anomalies of CPC Bangluru and Ghaziabad issues notices to tax payers and also raise the tax demands. To address such complaints CPC must organise camps in all leading cities. The department should also tender rights of making correction in TDS and income tax returns to local officials. CA Anand Jain, secretary of CA branch of the city, also push the demand of organizing camps by CPC in the city as soon as possible. He said that CA Indore branch would also make efforts in this direction.
Chairman of CA Indore branch Som Singhal stated that presently for the facility of tax payers the department has put maximum process online. Earlier refunds took almost one year time to materialise, but now taxpayers are receiving online refunds in less than one month time. income tax officer SP Sharma also brief about e-facilities of the department. From Ahilya Chamber of Commerce and Industry its president Ramesh Khandelwal, general secretary Sushil Surekha and member Rasnidhi Gupta also express the view. On this occasion a large number of CAs and members of different trade bodies were also present.
