Cleaning ghats under ‘Green Simhastha-Clean Simhastha’ campaign
Ujjain: The swimmers of Moulana Mauj Tairak Dal are serving the pilgrims at Ramghat showing a unique example of communal harmony. The team has saved around 45 pilgrims from drowning in Kshipra. Swimmers cleaned the Kshipra ghats under the campaign of Green Simhastha-Clean Simhastha.
Team president Akhlaque Khan told that most of the swimmers are of Muslim community and some are of Kahar community. They are all involved in the service of pilgrims on the banks of Kshipra with full dedication and zeal. They not only defer the untoward incident occurring at the ghats, but also catch the poisonous reptiles and leave them at safer places. They are the saver of aquatic life.
A young swimmer Abdul Wazid said they saved 6 people from drowning in river on the day of Shahi Snan. They have also caught 4 snakes till now. All the team members blow whistle to make pilgrims aware before they go to deep water. The swimmers are also dedicated to the theme of ‘Green Simhastha-Clean Simhastha’. Asked by the home guards, they cleaned ghats and collected the waste flowers and other ingredients out of the river. These swimmers are deployed in shifts round the clock.
